Five women,
one studio, a lot of opinions.
FeatherMoss is made in San Diego by a group of women who met doing other jobs and kept ending up at the same table on weekends, arguing about colour and stringing beads until it stopped being a hobby.

How it started
It started as a standing Sunday thing. One kitchen table, too many bead trays, and a rule that whatever you made you had to actually wear that week. The rule turned out to matter. Anything too delicate broke, anything too precious stayed in a drawer, and what survived was the loud stuff you forgot you had on.
That is still the whole test. If a piece cannot go in a bag, get rained on, and come out fine, we do not sell it.
What we believe about kitsch
Kitsch gets treated as a lesser thing, something you grow out of. We think the opposite. Wearing a glass cherry on your neck at thirty four is a decision, not an accident, and it deserves to be made properly, with real materials and real construction.
So the fruit is glass, not plastic. The pearls are freshwater and genuinely irregular. The enamel is fired, the findings are gold plated brass, and the cord is knotted between every single bead so that if one goes, the rest stay on the string.
The bench, most afternoons.
Everything is made here
Nothing is drop shipped and nothing arrives finished. Beads and findings are sourced from suppliers we have used for years, then every piece is assembled, knotted and checked in the studio before it goes in a box. When something sells out it is because five people can only make so much in a week.
